What Types of Air Compressors Are Available for Hire?

Our fleet includes portable, industrial, and specialised Atlas Copco units.

Which Industrial Electric Compressors Are Available?

The GA Series provides oil-injected rotary screw air. Capacities range from 2.2 kW to 500 kW. GA VSD+ units cut energy use by up to 50%. Variable Speed Drive matches motor speed to air demand. These units reduce electrical load during peak production.

Do We Offer Oil-Free (Class 0) Solutions?

We supply Class 0 oil-free compressors. The ZR/ZT series is ISO 8573-1 Class 0 certified. The PTS 1600 delivers 1600 CFM of 100% oil-free air. These units remove contamination risks. They suit food, pharmaceutical, and electronics applications.

What Green and Low-Emission Models Are Available?

E-Air VSD units run with zero local emissions. Noise levels are 61 dB(A). The B-Air 185-12 runs on battery power. It works on sites with no electrical supply. All Stage V diesel compressors use HVO fuel. HVO reduces net CO₂ emissions by 90%.

What Ancillary Equipment Is Supplied With a Hire Package?

Hire packages include dryers, filters, receivers, and hoses. We provide flexible hire for compressors and ancillary equipment to meet purity standards.

Which Dryers Are Available?

Which Dryers Are Available?

  • Refrigerant Dryers: Maintain +3°C Pressure Dew Point (PDP).
  • Desiccant Dryers: Achieve -40°C or -70°C PDP.
What Filtration Is Required?

What Filtration Is Required?

  • Coalescing Filters: Remove oil aerosols to 0.01 micron.
  • Particulate Filters: Remove dust and solids.
  • Carbon Towers: Remove oil vapour and odours.
How Is Air Stored and Distributed?

How Is Air Stored and Distributed?

  • Air Receivers: Buffer demand peaks (250 to 10,000 litres).
  • Certification: Systems over 250 bar-litres include compliance certificates.
  • Hoses: High-pressure ratings.
  • Safety: Whip checks included on all connections.

How Do I Select the Right Compressor for My Industry?

Selection depends on flow (CFM) and pressure (bar) requirements.

Construction and Demolition

Tools require consistent pressure. An XAS 88 runs two 90 lb breakers simultaneously.

Abrasive Blasting

Blasting uses high air volumes.

  • No. 6 nozzle (3/8″): Uses 196 CFM at 100 psi.
  • No. 7 nozzle (7/16″): Uses 254 CFM at 100 psi.

We recommend the XATS 138 for these tasks. Dry air prevents flash rusting.

Food, Beverage, and Pharmaceuticals

Air purity must meet ISO 8573-1 Class 1.2.1 or 2.2.1. We supply Class 0 oil-free compressors. We pair these with desiccant dryers which removes product contamination risks.

Manufacturing

Factories use hire units for “peak shaving”. Extra units support production during planned maintenance.

What Are the UK Compliance and Safety Requirements?

Hire equipment must meet PSSR 2000 and emissions standards.

01

Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR 2000)

Systems over 250 bar-litres need a Written Scheme of Examination (WSE). Control Gear supplies the valid WSE. We ensure all statutory inspections are current.

02

Insurance and Liability

You must hold “Hired-In Plant” insurance. This covers theft, malicious damage, and accidental damage.

03

Emissions Standards

Equipment in London must meet Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) standards. Stage V diesel units comply with these zones. Electric units comply with Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ).

04

Environmental Protection

Portable units use spillage-free frames. These provide 110% containment of fluids. This prevents soil contamination.
